Verlander inadvertently shared Yankees' media Wifi password
Jul 26, 2017; Detroit, MI, USA; Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Justin Verlander (35) sits in dugout during the first inning against the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park.  Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Minutes before the trade deadline, Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander let it be known that he wasn’t going anywhere, posting a selfie from the visiting clubhouse at Yankee Stadium, where the Tigers are playing.

Though, in a funny twist, he actually did a little more than just that.

It appears as though Verlander did not check his surroundings out that well (or maybe he did), because the Yankees’ media Wifi password was visible for all to see. Not surprisingly, Rob Perez, who is famous for his NBA coverage but who also gets into sports media of all kinds, is the one who pointed this out to everyone.

Now, what can we do with this information? If you’re not around Yankee Stadium, not much. But if you’re in the neighborhood and in need of a good Wifi hookup, thank Verlander.
