Brian Navarreto is back with the Miami Marlins, and now the back-up catcher is listed as a first baseman. Navarreto and the Marlins agreed to a minor-league deal earlier this week, per his MLB.com page.
The Marlins brought back catcher Brian Navarreto on a minor league contract, reports Kevin Barral of Fish On First. He had elected minor league free agency after being outrighted off the 40-man roster at the beginning of the offseason.
The Marlins announced that five players have been outrighted off the 40-man roster. They are right-handers Jesús Tinoco, Tyler Zuber, Valente Bellozo and Freddy Tarnok, as well as catcher Brian Navarreto.
