Dana White tells Kamaru Usman why he's the greatest welterweight of all time to his face
Per Haljestam-USA TODAY Sports

UFC CEO Dana White joined former champions Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo for the latest episode of their podcast, Pound 4 Pound.

As two fighters that have made it to the very top of the sport, they know how difficult it is once you start fighting the best in the world each and every time you step inside the Octagon.

They compared this to boxing during the podcast, a sport that has a totally different system of building fighters slowly with fights against lesser opponents.

White claimed that the way the UFC works makes it impossible to not give any fighter in MMA that makes it to the top a lot of respect and adoration, which he certainly showed toward one of the hosts.

White Snubs St-Pierre, Calls Usman The Greatest Welterweight Of All Time

When talking about how tough it is to make it to the top in the UFC, White used Usman as the perfect example of a guy who commands respect.

He credited "The Nigerian Nightmare" for taking on a run of top-tier competitors at 170 pounds, before referring to him as the greatest welterweight of all time.

"When you become a f****** world champion at the UFC, you went through death f****** row of the baddest motherf****** in the sport in your division that you could possibly fight. So when you talk about a Kamaru Usman, who went through them f****** twice, you might not like Kamaru, you might not like whatever it is you don't like him about him, but you cannot f****** deny that he's the greatest welterweight of all time. You can't deny that."

Cejudo started reacting to this immediately, referencing how this would likely cause some conversation in the comments.

Georges St-Pierre, given his nine title defenses, has long been referred to as the greatest welterweight of all time. But, given the opposition that Usman has fought, White believes he has taken the top spot.

"Listen, don't like Kamaru all you want, whatever you don't like about him, that's your f****** deal. You can't deny it [that he's the greatest welterweight of all time]."
