UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier is becoming increasingly frustrated by active fighters like Nate Diaz calling him out on social media.

Cormier ruffled Diaz's feathers when he claimed that he would prefer that Diaz not headline the UFC's upcoming Noche UFC card at the Las Vegas Sphere. Diaz, who hasn't fought in MMA since a win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279, has hinted at a return to the Octagon for UFC 306 at the Sphere.

Cormier said that while he'd love to see Diaz return to the Octagon, it shouldn't be in a main event. He claimed that other, more active fighters are more deserving of the headlining slot.

Diaz took strong exception to Cormier's comments and responded in a recent tweet.

Daniel Cormier Addresses Nate Diaz's Social Media Tirade

In a recent segment on his YouTube channel, Cormier responded to Diaz's social media pokes.

"I don't quite understand why people think it's okay to attack me in that way," Cormier said. "You don't get to just talk to anyone in any way you want, especially in a disrespectful manner...Jon Jones, he talked his s*** while I was fighting...that's why Jones and I had interactions outside of the Octagon on so many occasions, because I was still fighting...

"It's very odd that in my retirement I have more beefs, and more people coming after me, than when I was active...I don't that, but I'm nobody's b****. And to say I'm not a fighter, I don't get it, man. Because again, I feel like I was pretty fair to this dude. When you really think about it: To say I'm not a fighter, when you really think about it, Nate Diaz was fun. Nate Diaz got to a championship opportunity. But if I'm not a fighter, what does that make him?"

Cormier went on to hint that he and Diaz 'are on different levels' as fighters and went on to tout his multiple UFC titles. But, he invited Diaz to have a conversation with him about his comments and what he took exception to.

Cormier is a significant presence in UFC broadcasts and has been a color analyst for most pay-per-view cards since his fighting retirement. Some fighters like Diaz have criticized him for his commentary both on his YouTube channel and on the UFC mic.
