Chase Elliott took home the checkered flag at Bowman Gray Stadium on Sunday night in his first career Clash win.
The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion led 171 laps in the 200-lap feature event around the famed quarter-mile short track and earned the inaugural Bobby Allison Memorial Trophy in front of a sold-out crowd at The Madhouse.
Elliott joins his father, Bill, (1987) in winning a Clash race. The Elliotts are just the second father-son duo to each win a NASCAR Clash event, joining Dale Earnhardt Sr. (1980, 1986, 1988, 1991, 1993, 1995) and Dale Jr. (2003, 2008) on a rather exclusive list.
Interestingly, the Clash isn't the only exhibition race won by the father-son duos. The younger Elliott won the 2020 All-Star Race, while father Bill won back in 1986. Meanwhile, Earnhardt won the race in 1987, 1990 and 1993 while Junior achieved the feat in 2000.
Ironically, the four drivers have taken turns winning NASCAR's Most Popular Driver award each season dating back to 1991 and all but two of the awards since 1984.
Two last names synonymous with NASCAR.

All eyes now turn to Daytona, where the 29-year-old Hendrick Motorsports driver will look to capture his first Daytona 500 on Feb. 16.
If the Dawsonville, GA native can win The Great American Race, the Elliott family will again join the Earnhardt duo in NASCAR royalty. For the Elliotts would be the second father-son pairing to each win the Harley J. Earl Memorial trophy at the World Center of Racing.
