The Sixers have had their best players out due to injuries and positive COVID tests for several games in the early portion of this season, as they dropped five straight games after a strong 8-2 start to the season as a result.

However, they’re rediscovering their winning ways, taking two of their last three games, including an impressive road victory over the Kings despite being without four of their five starters.

It takes great chemistry to be able to navigate through tough waters, something Tyrese Maxey suggested in his recent comments.

“We really like each other off the court,” Maxey said. “So when you like each other off the court, hanging out with each other, talking on the plane, talking on the bus, you can persevere through anything. I mean, like when a time gets hard, you don’t separate, you come together, and I think that’s one thing that we’re going to try to build on.”

Team flights can serve as a great opportunity to bond since you’re in the air for several hours with nobody but the people next to you. The Sixers seem to make the most of it.

“Every flight, there’s guys playing games or guys talking, the speakers booming like it’s kind of crazy,” Shake Milton said. “Sometimes you try and go to sleep and the speakers is going nuts, but, yeah, no, it’s definitely fun to see. It’s exciting to see. We’re always trying to link up and go to dinner or whatever. So I would say the chemistry this team has is really good, and I think it’s gonna just continue to grow and help us in the future.”

The Sixers are currently 10-8, but with the chemistry seemingly clicking on all cylinders, and the expected eventual return of their best players, Philadelphia should remain in play for one of the top four seeds in the Eastern Conference all season long.
