The Memphis Grizzlies haven’t missed a step as they started the new season.

The team currently has a 4-1 record and ranks at the top of the Western Conference standings.

Their plan for the year was to make it far into the postseason and hopefully to the NBA Finals.

We don’t know if they will reach all those goals but they are certainly off to a wildly impressive and entertaining start.

A huge part of their success so far has to do with the two men leading the team: Ja Morant and Desmond Bane.

These two made franchise history the other night when they became the first pair of Grizzlies teammates to each average 30 points over a two-game span in the franchise’s history.

If Morant and Bane keep at it and continue to perform like this then the sky is the limit for this team.

Memphis’ Momentum

The Grizzlies are coming off a great 2021-22 season that saw them end the year as the second-best team in the West.

Some people thought they wouldn’t have as much luck this year because the conference is healthier and, therefore, more competitive.

However, Memphis is starting strong with Morant and Bane leading the way.

On Thursday night, Morant scored 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists while Bane put up 31 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The Sacramento Kings didn’t stand a chance and fell 125-110 to the Grizzlies.

So far, the Grizzlies have beat the New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, and now the Kings.

They have only been overcome by the Dallas Mavericks.

There are many tough competitors ahead – how will these Grizzlies fare against the Phoenix Suns or Milwaukee Bucks?

That will be the team’s best chance to show how legitimate they are.
