Former NBA player Patrick Beverley was featured in a YouTube video of N3on on Monday. Together, the two talked about a lot of basketball-related stuff. One of the topics that the content creator was curious about was which player was the hardest to guard for him.
Without any hesitation, Beverley mentioned his former Los Angeles Lakers teammate Russell Westbrook as a tough matchup. He said that the nine-time All-Star knows how to take advantage of the defender’s weaknesses.
“Russ was hard to guard,” Beverley said.
The YouTuber asked if he’s a tougher cover than Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry. The former guard for the Milwaukee Bucks, however, continued to clarify his response.
“He was hard to guard because he’s a very intelligent basketball player. He don’t get a lot of credit for this. So Russ knows that type of weaknesses that the other defender has. If you’re too small, he’s going to post you. If you’re too tall, he’s gonna use his quickness.”

Beverley and Westbrook spent years having animosity against one another. It started after the former’s physical play leading to the former MVP suffering a knee injury. During the younger years of their careers, the two point guards had a certain disdain against each other.
However, that changed when they became teammates during the 2022-23 NBA season. The veteran point guards became close friends during their brief time as teammates. Beverley was traded to the Chicago Bulls during the middle of the season after playing 45 games.
Patrick Beverley has bounced around the league throughout his career. However, only two stars stand out as the most hard-working players he’s ever played with. One of the players he thinks is an extremely hard worker is James Harden.
According to the defensive guard, Harden and Kawhi Leonard are the two most hard-working players he’s ever player with.
“Between James Harden and Kawhi Leonard,” Beverley said when asked which of his teammates are the most hardworking. “Him and James are probably the most two hard-working players I’ve ever been around my entire life of being here.”
N3on pointed out that Beverley played with LeBron James. However, the point guard said that James’ dominance relies more on his on-court intelligence.
No way Patrick Beverley said James Harden is more hardworking than Lebron James..

“I did play with LeBron but… he’s really gifted. He’s 2 or 3 plays ahead. LeBron is real big in the weight room.”
