In the second quarter of Friday night's game vs. the New Orleans Pelicans, LA Clippers star James Harden overtook NBA legend Jerry West for 23rd place on the NBA's all-time scoring list. Harden entered this game needing just four points to pass West, and did so in the second quarter on a three-pointer.
Harden has been playing great for the Clippers, helping them turn around what was a rough start to his time in LA. What Harden and the Clippers have shown over the last month is exactly what the team envisioned when trading for him. Looking like a real threat in the Western Conference, the Clippers have been red hot, and Harden is a huge reason why.
Both Harden and his longtime friend Russell Westbrook have been reaching milestones this season with the Clippers, as the two future Hall-of-Fame guards have teamed up for the third time in their careers to pursue a championship in their hometown of Los Angeles.
The Clippers have of course never won a championship, nor have Harden or Westbrook, so that one common goal has united all parties as they look to make a deep push this postseason. With Harden playing at this level, the sky truly is the limit for this Clippers team. There is a lot of season left, but things are looking up for the Clippers.
