Jimmy Butler is a very special type of player. What he brings to a team is hard to quantify and goes way beyond just stats.

Butler brings a mindset, leadership, and a never-say-die attitude. In just a few short months, he immediately turned the Golden State Warriors into championship contenders. Now that Butler has a legitimate chance ot win a championship, he doesn't want to win for just himself, but for Steph Curry and Draymond Green.

Why Does Butler Want to Win for Steph Curry and Draymond Green?

“It would mean the world to me, but it would mean the world to me if they won," Butler said to NBC Sports Bay Area's Kerith Burke on the latest episode of 'Dubs Talk'.

Winning five championships makes a player absolutely undeniable. It puts Steph Curry into an even higher echelon than he already once was, and that gives Butler all the motivation in the world.

"They’ve already solidified themselves in the basketball fame and in the league, we get that," Butler said. "But to separate themselves from other individuals -- you get five, like, you’re there. You know? No doubting, you can’t question it."

While some questioned Curry's two championship rings with Kevin Durant as too easy, they won't be able to argue his greatness if he won another with a completely different team. Curry would have won in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2022, and 2026.

"You can’t say, ‘Who was on your team?' " Butler explained. "You’ve done it with multiple different types of players and rosters. You get five, nobody is questioning anything about anybody that got five.”

Do the Golden State Warriors Have a Chance?

Last season, it looked like the Golden State Warriors had an underdog's chance at winning an NBA championship. They defeated the inexperienced second-seeded Houston Rockets in the first round, but were ultimately dismantled by the Minnesota Timberwolves once they lost Steph Curry to injury.

Realistically, the Warriors have enough talent to reach the Western Conference Finals. However, the West is even more loaded than ever, and it's tough to say that Golden State has enough to defeat the Denver Nuggets or Oklahoma City Thunder.

One thing is for sure though, the Warriors need to be fully health in order to stand a chance. They can not be missing Steph Curry, Draymond Green, or Jimmy Butler. Otherwise, history has already shown what happens.
