Knicks’ NBA Draft fate sealed after tiebreaker

New York has held the 24th pick on five prior occasions, most recently in 2024 when it selected Kyshawn George out of Miami before trading him to the Washington Wizards in a draft night deal that acquired the rights to Dillon Jones and a second round pick (which was later swapped to draft Ariel Hukporti). Other notable historic selections in the 24th spot include Sam Cassell, Derek Fisher, Kyle Lowry, Terry Porter, and Latrell Sprewell.

The 15th through 30th selections of the 2026 NBA Draft are officially locked in after Monday’s drawing. Elsewhere, Phoenix won a three-way tie ahead of Philadelphia and Orlando for the 16th pick and Toronto is picking 19th ahead of Atlanta (who will move the 20th to San Antonio). The Hawks are acquiring Cleveland’s pick at No. 23, which finished behind Houston (which is on its way to Oklahoma City).

Toward the top of the board, Utah won ahead of Sacramento for fourth, though their odds to get the No. 1 pick at the draft lottery remain the same. New Orleans (whose pick will move to either Atlanta or Milwaukee) has a 0.1 percent better chance at obtaining the top choice after going ahead of Dallas for seventh. Washington, Indiana, and Brooklyn still carry the best odds for No. 1

The opening round of the 2026 NBA Draft is scheduled for June 23 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
