Malcolm Brogdon is on the market and Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus sees a landing spot. Pincus predicted that the 32-year-old guard will sign with the Timberwolves, giving them insurance behind Mike Conley.
“Malcolm Brogdon is an experienced veteran guard who can defend and shoot, but he has struggled to stay healthy,” Pincus wrote.
The Wizards have no real use for him after bringing in CJ McCollum, and several other teams — Golden State, Sacramento and New York among them — could be interested. Brogdon averaged 12.7 points and 4.1 assists in 24 games with Washington last season.
Bucks scouting in Greece: Milwaukee brass was on hand for Greece’s EuroBasket win over Italy, with GM Jon Horst, head coach Doc Rivers and assistant Darvin Ham in attendance.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo said his defensive effort and energy helped show the Bucks he is fully back after Achilles surgery.
“It’s very important for every player who comes back from a major injury to prove himself again,” Antetokounmpo said, via Eurohoops and BasketNews.
He finished with six points, three boards and a key late three-pointer in Greece’s victory.
Cavs facing high expectations: Cleveland led the East with 64 wins last season but once again flamed out in the second round, this time to Indiana.
With Jayson Tatum and Tyrese Haliburton sidelined, ESPN and others see the Cavs as the favorites to come out of the East in 2026.
That also raises the stakes. If the core four of Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen falls short again, there is a sense the team could finally break it up.
Lineup data suggests Mitchell and Mobley may be the long-term keepers. Garland and Allen could headline a trade package if the Cavs decide change is needed.
