The interesting dynamic here is that Brooklyn would be willing to break up its talented young core.
Russell, 23, is set to become a restricted free agent in July after putting up an All-Star performance in 2018-19. The former top-five pick averaged 21.1 points and 7.0 rebounds on 37% shooting from distance.
Meanwhile, Allen averaged 10.9 points and 8.4 rebounds during his sophomore season.
It would take more than both of these players to acquire Davis. Fortunately for the Nets, they are lucky to have two first-round picks (17th and 27th overall).
As it relates to the Pelicans, there’s a lot going on surrounding Davis.
Stay tuned. There’s going to be a lot more to this situation leading up to the 2019 NBA Draft in a month.
