Ben Simmons’ next move is already uncertain, and now so is his representation. Marc Stein of The Stein Line reports that agent Bernie Lee has formally removed himself from the NBPA’s ledger as Simmons’ agent.

It comes as Simmons weighs his options for the 2025-26 season. As we noted earlier, he may be contemplating retirement.

Simmons, 29, is coming off a season split between the Nets and Clippers after a midyear buyout. He appeared in 51 total games, averaging 5.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists while shooting 52 percent from the floor.

Once an All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year candidate, his value around the league has dropped considerably.

Regardless, he will now navigate that process without Lee, leaving one more layer of uncertainty in a career that has already had its share.

For the record, one scout already told Hoops Wire that he doesn’t believe there is much interest around the NBA.

“I don’t think there’s any real interest in him beyond teams putting out some feelers,” the scout told Hoops Wire. “So if he does (retire), he and his agent can spin it as if it’s being done by choice.

“But I think teams are probably going to make that decision for him.”
