Stephen Curry wins NBA scoring title
Stephen Curry is arguably having the best season of his career. Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors spent their Sunday afternoon battling it out against the Memphis Grizzlies for the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

The winner would likely go head-to-head with the Los Angeles Lakers in the play-in tournament for the right to enter the NBA playoffs as the seventh seed.

For Curry, there was another goal in mind outside of his team winning a sixth consecutive game to end the regular season. Curry needed a mere two points in order to win his second career NBA scoring title.

He got it with this driving runner toward the end of the first quarter.

Having won the NBA scoring title back in 2015-16, Stephen Curry now joins some of the greatest to ever do it on an exclusive list.

Curry became the fourth player in history with multiple scoring titles, MVP awards and championships, joining Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

That’s honestly an insane accomplishment. We’re talking about three of the top six or seven players in the history of the NBA.

Curry entered Sunday’s season finale against Memphis averaging 31.8 points per game. Once Bradley Beal scored 25 points in his Washington Wizards’ win over the Charlotte Hornets earlier on Sunday, it became clear that Curry would win the NBA scoring title. That’s now official.
