The Suns Over/Under Wins total for 2025-2026 should be a no-brainer

The Phoenix Suns don’t have many believers heading into next season, and Vegas definitely isn’t one of them. BetMGM has the franchise’s win total for the 2025-2026 season set at 31.5, with the under a slight underdog at +100. The Suns are coming off an embarrassing 36-46 season that was filled with dysfunction, injuries and tension throughout. The roster and personnel is completely different for next year, making betting the Over/Under an easy decision.

Why bettors should hammer the Suns over:

In the Western Conference last season, only two teams won less than 31 games: The New Orleans Pelicans and Utah Jazz. The Pelicans were berated with injuries and the Jazz were actively tanking for a top pick. The West is filled with quality teams, with Phoenix included.

The West middle class is wide open, as question marks surround plenty of teams in that span. The Dallas Mavericks won’t have Kyrie Irving for a majority of the year due to an ACL tear. The Sacramento Kings retooled roster from last year’s trade deadline was under .500 as unit. The Memphis Grizzlies traded their Desmond Bane, the San Antonio Spurs are young, the Golden State Warriors are old and many more concerns are filled in the middle class.

Phoenix is the easy team to picked on based expectations from last season. The roster had the most expensive roster in the NBA and missed the playoffs with three All-Star caliber players. However, the franchise is chugging along in the right direction, as new head coach Jordan Ott could be the key.

“We’re gonna demand that you work — that’s where it’s gonna start,” Ott said. “I want them to know and believe that I’m going to help them. … It’s tough to play in the NBA and I want them to know when they’re out there playing that we’re together.

“Offensively, playing faster. I think a way to look at it is playing earlier in the clock. … How often can we get a good look early in the possession. We’re gonna move. The cutting piece is important. … We’re gonna find ways to get extra possessions.”

Ott was praised for his creativity offensively and defensively by fellow coaches and thrived in player development with the Atlanta Hawks. During his introductory press conference, Ott seemed ready to work and ready to put the pieces of this roster to work.

The new Suns head coach’s philosophy can work with the youth added this roster. Phoenix had the oldest roster in the league last year, and now it has an average age of around 25 years old heading into next season. The team swapped out Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal for Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green. While the talent might’ve taken a dip, the effort will certainly increase.

Brooks and Green come from a Houston Rockets team that was one of the best defensive teams in the league. The Suns had one of the worst defensive ratings in the league, holding the team back from making a finally Play-In push.

The added youth, new head coach with a clear vision, and Devin Booker’s superstardom will have this team striving for a Play-In spot at the minimum in the Western Conference. The talented West might leave them out of Play-In festivities, but the talent should be enough to get over the 31.5 win total projected.
