Anthony Edwards looked good in the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Game 1 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Saturday. The four-time All-Star registered 22 points on 7-of-19 shooting, to go along with nine rebounds, seven assists, three blocks and two triples in 38 minutes of action.

It wasn’t enough, though, as Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets scored a pivotal 116-105 win in their series-opener to go up 1-0. Game 2 in Denver is on Monday, and the Wolves will need a win to split the series before it heads to Minnesota.

Edwards, however, is now in danger of missing Monday’s crucial matchup as he continues to deal with a lingering knee injury.

Edwards has been in and out of the lineup for the Wolves of late. He missed 11 out of Minnesota’s last 14 games of the regular season due to right knee patellofemoral pain syndrome.

The Timberwolves have submitted their injury report for Monday’s contest, and Edwards is back on the list again. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard is officially listed as questionable to play due to right knee injury maintenance.

The team announced the unwanted news on X.

The silver lining here is that Edwards does not appear to have sustained a new injury. It also does not sound like he aggravated his knee issue.

At this point, it appears that Minnesota is just being cautious. Given the importance of Game 2, it would likely take a major issue to hold Edwards out. Nevertheless, the Wolves should make a final decision on his status closer to tipoff.

After Monday's contest, Minnesota will host Games 3 and 4 at Target Center. Game 3 will take place on Thursday, followed by Game 4 on Saturday.
