Utah Jazz Have Petty Arena Wi-Fi Name Based on Michael Jordan
Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

One of the peak moments of Michael Jordan’s career was his game-winning shot over Bryon Russell in the 1998 NBA Finals. It resulted in Jordan and the Bulls shutting down the Utah Jazz's championship hopes in back-to-back seasons.

It seems the Jazz are still salty about Jordan and that legendary play, as owner Ryan Smith revealed the organization’s unique Wi-Fi name while appearing on Wednesday’s episode of “The Pat McAfee Show."

"Yeah, during the ‘Last Dance’ I remember not having quite enough money to get in," Smith said when McAfee asserted that Smith used to break into the arena to watch games. "There was a lot of discussion happening between Michael Jordan and the Jazz fans that year, I remember. Whether it was pizza, getting sick, or wanting to go to Vegas, whatever it was.

"The Wi-Fi in the building is JordanPushedOff so, I don’t know how."

As the news spread, the Jazz's official X account posted a picture verifying the Delta Center's Wi-Fi name.

The Bulls fan in me is obligated to respond. Here goes.

The Jazz will always be the little brother of the entire NBA. Still holding onto an event from two decades ago is childish. Since the John Stockton/Karl Malone era ended, the Jazz have been rather underwhelming on the basketball court.

The current iteration of the Jazz continued to prove that in their 17-point loss to the Bulls on Monday. At least they have rings to fall back on... oh wait. Michael Jordan made sure that didn't happen.

Stay salty, Utah.
