The Wizards are locking in their future — or at least a big chunk of it.
Washington has picked up its team options for the 2026–27 season on six players, according to Josh Robbins of The Athletic.
The list: Alex Sarr, Bilal Coulibaly, Cam Whitmore, Bub Carrington, AJ Johnson, and Kyshawn George.
In total, that group will earn roughly $38.3 million during the 2026–27 season.
Sarr, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 draft, headlines the bunch with a $12.3 million salary, followed by Coulibaly’s $9.2 million fourth-year option.
Whitmore checks in at $5.5 million, Carrington at $4.9 million, Johnson at $3.2 million, and George at $3.1 million.
Of the six, four are already regular contributors. George, in particular, has been outstanding — the rookie is averaging 20.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists while shooting 53.8 percent from deep.
Sarr isn’t far behind, posting 19.5 points, 8.8 boards, and 2.0 blocks per game.
Whitmore and Carrington have settled into solid rotation roles, while Coulibaly — still recovering from offseason thumb surgery — has yet to make his season debut.
Johnson, acquired in last year’s Khris Middleton–Kyle Kuzma trade, has only seen garbage-time minutes so far.
Coulibaly and Whitmore will be eligible for rookie extensions starting in July 2026. If those deals don’t get done, they’ll become restricted free agents in 2027.
Next up, the Wizards will face decisions on Sarr, Carrington, Johnson, and George next fall when it’s time to pick up their fourth-year options for 2027–28.
