The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 16 contest against the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Because linebacker Erick Kendricks is on the practice squad, the 49ers do not need to report his practice status. Head coach Kyle Shanahan, however, briefly forgot that on Thursday, and noted that Kendricks returned to practice after dealing with a calf issue, though he was limited.
Running back Christian McCaffrey and offensive tackle Trent Williams received their usual rest days and did not participate.
Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall emerged from Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans with an ankle injury, which he played through, and also aggravated a knee issue. While he did not practice on Thursday, Shanahan did not rule out his availability for Monday night.
"He's doing a lot better today than he was on Monday, and the extra day will help," Shanahan said. "So, he's got a shot."
Defensive tackle Jordan Elliott, who suffered a knee injury on Sunday, ahead of kickoff, and offensive lineman Spencer Burford, dealing with knee and ankle issues, also did not practice. Although both were seen working on the side. Additionally, linebacker Nick Martin remains in the concussion protocol for the third consecutive week.
The good news for the 49ers is that linebacker Tatum Bethune and defensive end Sam Okuayinonu returned to practice after being held out last week, showing progress ahead of the upcoming game.
Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Colts, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
