Former Chicago Bears' quarterback Jim McMahon recently appeared on 'The Morning Roast' of 95.7 The Game in San Francisco. Hosts Bonta Hill and Joe Shasky had McMahon on to preview the upcoming matchup between the Bears and the 49ers. They also talked about football in the past and how the rivalry between the two historic franchises heated up in the late 1980s.

Hill and Shasky asked McMahon why the Chicago Bears didn't win more championships after their lone victory in 1985. McMahon replied by saying they were tired.

The former Bears' QB continued by saying that Mike Ditka "forgot" what it was like to be a player and not get paid when his own players started sitting out for that exact reason. He said, "It's amazing how they forget when they become coaches or get up in the front office, how they were as players."

Whether or not the Chicago Bears and the McCaskey family are "cheap" in Jim McMahon's definition is a matter of opinion. But it's still interesting to hear a former player dissect why the Bears haven't found sustained success since their one magical season.

Could the Chicago Bears finally turn the ship around with the new regime, potential franchise quarterback, and the possible move to Arlington Heights? Only time will tell, but the potential is very exciting.
