Not only did this put Indianapolis in a less-than-stellar situation, but it also was a surprising move for a potential future Hall of Famer coming off several injuries and seemingly hitting the prime of his career.
Since said announcement, speculation has come up that Luck might return to the gridiron at some point. His father, current XFL commissioner Oliver Luck, is here to throw some cold water on that idea.
The older Luck has indicated that he “didn’t notice any hankering from him (Andrew) to get back on the field,” via ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The physical toll of playing six seasons in the NFL coupled with injuries led Luck into making his decision to step away from football. Several months away from the gridiron apparently has not changed things.
If this is indeed the end of Luck’s career, he finished having tallied 23,671 yards with 171 touchdowns and 83 interceptions.
