Fantasy football drafts are approaching as the season is now less than three weeks away from kickoff. Here is the best player to target from each AFC team in fantasy football drafts. Note that the best player doesn’t necessarily mean the player projected to score the most points; other factors, such as the FantasyPros consensus ADP, also go into determining the best fantasy football target from each team.
Quarterback Drake Maye is being drafted as the QB17 right now, which is his floor. In his ten full starts last season, he only had one weekly finish below the QB18. He provides enough rushing upside in an improved Patriots offense to take the sophomore leap.
Running back De’Von Achane is the seventh running back off the board in the middle to late second round. When both he and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa are healthy, Achane might be the best running back in PPR fantasy football. After trading away tight end Jonnu Smith, this offense will run through Achane, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle. All three will have massive target shares, giving Achane the potential to finish as a top-three fantasy running back this season.
Quarterback Josh Allen is being drafted at a steep price, but he has five straight finishes as a top-two fantasy quarterback. He is well worth drafting in the early third round of fantasy drafts.
Quarterback Justin Fields is being drafted in the double-digit rounds and outside of the top ten quarterbacks. His rushing ceiling gives him an immense ceiling. He can finish as a top-eight quarterback this year if he can stay healthy, making him a great late-round target in fantasy football this year.
Justin Fields was the QB7 in FPPG in the six games he started last season.
He was a QB1 in 3 of the 6 games.

Running back Chase Brown has been rising in ADP, but he is still only being drafted in the third round of fantasy drafts and outside of the top ten running backs. He is in line to have one of the largest workloads on one of the best offenses in the league. He will have a monster season for the Bengals this year.
Tight end David Njoku continues to be successful no matter who is playing quarterback. Expect this to continue in 2025, and fantasy players can draft him as the TE9.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson almost won his third career MVP last season and had his highest scoring fantasy season of his career, and the second time he finished as the overall QB1. The Ravens offense will once again be one of the best in the NFL, and Jackson will compete with Allen all season for the top fantasy QB and maybe the MVP again.

Running back Jaylen Warren is the best pass-catching and pass-blocking running back on the Steelers. New quarterback Aaron Rodgers will want Warren to be on the field with him. Although the Steelers did draft Kaleb Johnson, expect Warren to still play a big role in the offense, and fantasy managers can draft him outside of the top 30 running backs.
Wide receiver Nico Collins got off to a terrific start last season, before injuries cost him five games in the middle of the season. A new offensive coordinator should be more pass-friendly with the Texans. 2025 could be the year that Collins finally breaks out into being a top ten wide receiver in fantasy football and the NFL.

The Colts needed a tight end badly, and rookie Tyler Warren is the perfect fit for them. Warren will be much better with Daniel Jones under center compared to Anthony Richardson, but he should outproduce his ADP of TE10 in either scenario. A rookie tight end has finished as the overall TE1 in back-to-back seasons. Can Warren make it three in a row?
Two-way superstar Travis Hunter was drafted second overall in the 2025 NFL Draft after the new general manager James Gladstone and head coach Liam Coen for the Jaguars traded up to get their guy. Coen says he wants Hunter to play around 80% of the offensive snaps. Guess what percentage of snaps Brian Thomas Jr. played last season? 80%, and he was the WR4 in fantasy football last season. Hunter is being drafted as the WR31 on average. He is in a position to completely outperform that mark. The Jaguars gave up a lot to get Hunter, so they have to prove that he was the right choice. Hunter is one of the best values and players to target in fantasy football drafts this summer.
Wide receiver Calvin Ridley has finished as the WR18 and WR28 in his last two seasons after his year away in 2022. Ridley played with Will Levis and Mason Rudolph in 2024 and still put up over 1000 receiving yards. Now he gets to play with the number one overall pick, Cameron Ward. The Titans offense will be much better, and Ridley will be the top target for Ward. Ridley is being drafted as the WR29, which is great value for a guy who outperformed that mark in two straight seasons and has a better quarterback in 2025 than in 2024.
Running back Isiah Pacheco only played in two games before being out until Week 13. In those two games, he had two top 20 finishes. Pacheco is back fully healthy this season and should be the three-down back in the offense. Pacheco has the potential to be a top-15 running back, but is being drafted at the RB26.
The Broncos had almost zero production from the tight end position last season. Enter Evan Engram. Jimmy Graham was great under Sean Payton in New Orleans, and Engram is expected to play a similar role, the “Joker” role. Engram will be the second target for sophomore quarterback Bo Nix behind Courtland Sutton.
All the attention on the Raiders offense is for tight end Brock Bowers and rookie running back Ashton Jeanty. However, fantasy players will need to pay a steep price for either one of them. Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is the player to target in this offense. He has four straight seasons as a top 30 fantasy wide receiver. He was the WR19 last year, while missing two games. The quarterbacks in 2024 for the Raiders were Gardner Minshew, Aidan O’Connell, and Desmond Ridder. Geno Smith is much better than all of them. Bowers and Meyers were both great together last season. Meyers is being drafted as the WR41 right now! He has not finished that low in a season since 2020. He is an unsexy pick, but he is one of the best targets in the middle rounds of fantasy football drafts.
Rookie running back Omarion Hampton is Matthew Berry’s Ride or Die for the 2025 season. What else needs to be said?
