The Buffalo Bills are going to be significantly shorthanded when they face the Denver Broncos in the divisional round on Saturday. The Bills booked their spot in the next round of the NFL playoffs with a big win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. However, that victory came at quite a cost, with Buffalo losing multiple players to injuries.
Wide receiver Tyrell Shavers was one of the victims in the wild card round win. The 26-year-old wide receiver suffered a torn ACL in his knee, which was deemed a season-ending injury. Fellow wideout Gabe Davis also tore his ACL and was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday. Safety Jordan Poyer, on the other hand, sustained a hamstring injury against the Jaguars and has already been ruled out for the Broncos game.
Shavers is currently in his second season with the Bills. The former San Diego State Aztecs standout’s role with the team increased significantly in 2025. He played all 17 games in the regular season (nine starts), registering 15 catches for 245 yards, one touchdown and 11 first downs.
Shavers’ season came to an unfortunate end on Sunday, though. On Wednesday, the Bills decided to place Shavers on injured reserve. The team made the announcement via social media.
“Placed WR Tyrell Shavers on Injured Reserve,” Buffalo Bills PR posted on X.

The Bills have not revealed if Shavers will undergo surgery to address his torn ACL.
The good news for Buffalo is that, despite the myriad of injuries, Josh Allen is trending in the right direction. The reigning NFL MVP is currently dealing with foot, finger and knee injuries, forcing him to miss practice on Tuesday. Allen, however, was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. This indicates he should be good to go for Sunday’s game against the Broncos.
Denver, the No. 1 seed in the AFC, will host Sunday’s divisional round showdown at Empower Field at Mile High. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast via CBS.
