On Thursday, Sept. 4 the Philadelphia Eagles will kick off the 2025 NFL season by hosting the Dallas Cowboys in a clash of likely NFC contenders.
Philadelphia is attempting to become the second-straight NFL team to win back-to-back Super Bowls, following the Kansas City Chiefs. Ahead of the game, the Eagles revealed Philadelphia natives Boyz II Men will be singing the national anthem.
The 4-time Grammy Winners have performed at Lincoln Financial Field a number of times, but not for a few years. They're still very familiar with Philadelphia fans, being fans themselves.
"When you look at our fans in Philly, it's the passion," Wanya Morris said. "Nobody ever talked about the passion or the fandom of everybody else's being like, 'Oh, it's the worst, it's the worst.' It's always Eagles, it's always Philly, (and) it's just that because our moves and everything are so big, everybody sees it.
"We're not the worst, we're just the most passionate. And the deal is you're going to see us because we big. Philly is always going to be big. That's why the Eagles do what we do."
In the days leading up to the game, the group sent a strong message on social media.
"Philly, it doesn’t get bigger than this. Opening night. Prime time. Cowboys vs. Eagles.
And we’ve got the honor of singing the anthem right here at home. Let’s make some noise, Philadelphia!" the group said in a message on social media before the game.
Tonight's game between the Cowboys and Eagles kicks off at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
