Jim Harbaugh, Chargers have some soul-searching to do

Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers aren't supposed to be this bad. There was so much excitement about Harbaugh going to Los Angeles after his championship win with the Michigan Wolverines, and his first two seasons with the team were promising, with identical 11-6 records and two trips to the playoffs.

So, what happened? You can't blame Madison Beer for this one.

Harbaugh, quarterback Justin Herbert and the Chargers are off to an 0-2 start this season. That's not a good look. Plus, the team just fell to the Las Vegas Raiders, who had a 3-14 record last season. It was a surprising loss and has people around the NFL talking.

So, the Chargers and Harbaugh have some soul-searching to do. Sure, it's early in the season, but two losses right away can really hurt momentum and send a team into a downward spiral. Whatever they're doing, they need to switch it up. They have to change.

Ben Solak of ESPN already believes the "Chargers will pick in the top 10 of next year's draft."

"There is nothing about the Chargers that works right now," he wrote. "They remind me of the Nathaniel Hackett-led Broncos in 2022. I have no idea what they're working on at practice throughout the week."

He adds that "through two weeks, the Chargers look as if they've never practiced together. Herbert lets bad plays spiral and is more visibly skittish, frustrated and confused than I can remember seeing him."

It's certainly the case that this team doesn't seem to be gelling right now. Really, it's about getting back that chemistry and communication on the field. We'll see if it happens on Sunday during the team's game against the Buffalo Bills.
