Justin Herbert fires back at question about Chargers’ leadership

The Los Angeles Chargers are 0-2, but quarterback Justin Herbert doesn’t want to hear anything about the lack of leadership.

Herbert was asked about “vocal leadership,” and the Chargers QB didn’t even let the reporter finish th question before responding with a strong answer.

“I don’t think there’s a lack of vocal leadership at all. So, I’m going to stop you right there and say that it’s very present,” he said. “I don’t think anyone is panicked or worried because that’s not going to be the sentiment.

Herbert is usually somewhat of a robot during these press conferences, so it was a bit different to see him respond in this way.

For example, after the Chargers’ Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, Herbert repeatedly used the word “execute,” and fans were frustrated by his lack of expression after an ugly loss.

Herbert also said the following when asked about the leadership.

“I think that would imply that there’s no need for vocal leadership before this week.”

Right now, the Chargers are 0-2, with the losses coming to the Cardinals and the Las Vegas Raiders, but maybe Herbert’s frustration will lead to a big win in Week 3 against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
