McVay Adjusting To Life As A Dad
USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay has had quite the eventful week, but not so much on the field.

On Oct 25., the 37-year-old coach welcomed his first son Jordan alongside his wife Veronika Khomyn. While a very happy moment for McVay and his family, it also means he's now taking on a whole new world of responsibilities in addition to his work as an NFL coach. Needless to say, it's an adjustment for McVay as he takes his first steps into fatherhood.

“Tired. I'm getting caught up. Everything that went on this week," McVay told reporters Friday. "I got way behind so still have a lot of work to do.”

Despite the lack of sleep, the Super Bowl-winning coach is still more than happy to be where he is now.

“Everything is all good but we are creatures of habit in terms of our rhythm and routine and I get a little edgy and irritable when that gets a little off...There's plenty of time to be able to do that by Sunday at noon or whatever time we kick off there, but the lack of sleep earlier on in the week... I've taken pretty good care of myself for the most part this year and that stuff is real when you lose it, you know? So that's what you're sensing for me right now.”

It helps that McVay has a strong support system around him. He showed his appreciation to his assistant coaches for helping the team to get ready while his attention was elsewhere, saying he has "total trust and confidence" in his staff.

When the Rams travel to take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, McVay will have a new fan cheering him on back home.
