From the sounds of it, more than anything else, Parsons finally feels valued after contentious long-term contract negotiations with Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys seemed to repeatedly test new lows in recent months leading up to last week’s blockbuster trade.

Micah Parsons Opens Up About Packers Blockbuster Trade

Parsons is starting fresh, complete with changing his Jersey to No. 1, with a renewed sense of urgency as he begins a new chapter of his career.

“I’m going to be ready,” he said, “I’m going to be here to win games and I’m going to push these guys to do what we have to do to prove this organization was right about me.”

Parsons lands as the potential difference-maker and missing piece both for the Packers’ championship aspirations and Jeff Hafley’s front seven.

“I’m not even going to lie, there is a lot of expectations, and I’d be a fool to not think that there isn’t expectations or there isn’t pressure in the position that I’m stepping into,” Parsons, 26, told reporters in Green Bay. “But then again, that’s a blessing in itself, that means that they believe in me that much.”

Through his first four seasons, Parsons has produced 52.5 sacks and could be a critical piece in the Packers making a lengthy postseason run. “I’m very determined,” Parsons said. “I would say these last four months have probably been the hardest four months of my life.”
