NFL player prop: The beauty of Jeudy

When you’ve reached October and your number of wins matches the first letter of the month, it’s been a rough start to the NFL season. The 0-3 Broncos, still stinging from the embarrassment of a 70-20 thrashing by the Dolphins, now visit Chicago — as favorites, no less — to take on the likewise-winless Bears. But bad teams can present good betting opportunities, and this matchup of misery is where we find our top prop:

The bet: Over 53½ receiving yards for Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (DraftKings)

Since leaving Alabama early and being taken with the 15th overall pick in the 2020 draft, Jeudy has endured a litany of injuries. His latest, a hamstring strain that sidelined him for Week 1, appears comfortably in the past, leaving him primed for high-end production.

Jeudy played 76% of the offensive snaps a week ago and caught five passes for 81 yards. That outing was reminiscent of how he looked down the stretch of last season, after his return from an ankle injury. Demonstrating great chemistry with quarterback Russell Wilson, Jeudy averaged 87 yards per game over the last six and cleared this total by more than 10 yards in five of them.

The Bears already field the third-worst pass defense, allowing 286 yards per game. And now they’ll be without four of the defensive backs who played in the opener, including starting cornerback Jaylon Johnson and two-time Pro Bowl safety Eddie Jackson.

Showcasing his trademark crisp routes and breakaway speed, Jeudy could have a field day.
