Packers QB Aaron Rodgers passes Patrick Mahomes as favorite to win MVP

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes enters Week 17 with hopes of taking home the NFL's MVP award this season. However, it appears he's no longer the favorite to win the honor.

After torching the Tennessee Titans 40-14 on Sunday in the snow at Lambeau Field, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers became the betting favorite to win the MVP award at -450, according to BetOnline.ag.

Here's how the top three looks:

  1. Aaron Rodgers -450
  2. Patrick Mahomes +325
  3. Josh Allen +900

Rodgers has been one of the most consistent quarterbacks this season. Against the Titans, the 37-year-old completed 21-of-25 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns against one interception. He also had three carries for 19 yards.

Rodgers currently leads the NFL with 44 passing touchdowns and ranks sixth with 4,059 passing yards. His 70.3 completion percentage ranks second behind Drew Brees.

The Packers can lock up the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs with a win against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. It's likely Rodgers starts that game instead of opting to rest before the playoffs.

Rodgers has won the league's MVP award twice while Mahomes took home the honor more recently in 2018.
