On Wednesday, Raheem Morris provided an update on star cornerback A.J. Terrell, who left Sunday night’s game with a hamstring injury and did not return. The Falcons head coach described Terrell as week-to-week.

Given the nature of hamstring injuries, it seems very likely A.J. Terrell will miss Sunday’s contest against the Panthers. And with the Falcons having an early bye week in Week 5, a Week 6 return against the Bills on Monday Night Football feels like the most reasonable expectation.
Until then, Raheem Morris says there will be a competition for those open reps. He liked how Dee Alford performed in Terrell’s absence against Minnesota, but Natrone Brooks, Clark Phillips III, and even some practice squad players could get an opportunity.
Morris said it'll be a competition if Terrell is out, but he liked how Dee Alford played. He mentioned Clark Phillips III, Natrone Brooks and practice squad guys like CJ Henderson as possibilities, in addition to Alford. #Falcons

The Falcons don’t have many inspiring options behind Terrell. Cornerback was one of the team’s weakest position groups entering the season, which places even more emphasis on the Falcons pass rush. Atlanta has been among the best at getting after the quarterback through the first two weeks. They will need that to continue if Terrell misses time, or they will leave the secondary open to getting exposed.
