Miami’s official X account announced in a post this morning that the team has conducted an interview with former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski. Cleveland fired Stefanski earlier this month after he led the Browns to merely five wins in all of the 2025 season. With him at the helm, the Browns had a 45-56 record in the regular season and made two playoff appearances. The two-time NFL Coach of the Year coached the Browns to their first playoff victory since the 1994 season during the dawn of the decade as well.
Maybe Stefanski is the right man to end the Dolphins’ lengthy playoff drought, considering he helped the Browns snap theirs. Miami hasn’t won a single playoff game since all the way back in the year 2000, and it’s been a long time since Dolphins fans have seen the team seriously contend in the AFC.
Stefanski has a real puncher’s chance to be crowned just the 15th head coach in the Dolphins’ franchise history soon, but it appears he’s far from the only man in the running for the job. Miami has already reached out to for interview requests for the likes of Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley and Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard. Moreover, Klint Kubiak interviewed with the Dolphins a few days back and was the first person Miami sat down with.
It seems as if the Dolphins are slowly moving forward in their hiring process for a head coach, and at some point, sooner rather than later, the team will reveal its next leader ahead of the 2026 season.
