Saints' Deonte Harris appealing suspension for DUI arrest

New Orleans Saints receiver Deonte Harris is appealing a three-game suspension from the league for a DUI arrest from over the summer, NFL Network first reported on Friday.

Harris plead "not guilty with an agreement to facts" earlier this month, according to NOLA.com, following an arrest in Baltimore over the summer in which he was found swerving over three lanes of traffic at 1:30 a.m. and registered a blood alcohol level of 0.246%.  He was sentenced to one year of supervised probation without a verdict.

The Harris suspension is just the latest in a season full of bad news for the Saints. The New Orleans club is without a large number of starting players due to injuries and is coming off of an embarrassing 31-6 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving.

Harris, who also serves as a kick returner, has 27 catches for 427 yards with two touchdowns so far this season. He, like the rest of the Saints offense, was quiet on Thursday as he logged just one reception good for nine yards.
