Philip Rivers' NFL career is primarily known for his days with the San Diego (and Los Angeles) Chargers. The former NC State star spent all but one year of his NFL career with the Chargers between both San Diego and Los Angeles.
Rivers was also part of the same draft class as Eli Manning, who didn't want to play for the Chargers, forcing them to trade the top pick and wind up with Rivers.
In the end, Rivers had eight Pro Bowl trips and was a mainstay for the Chargers in what was an impressive career. Now, he has 10 children, and his son, Gunner, is drawing plenty of college buzz.
Gunner Rivers is a quarterback, just like his dad, and is in the Class of 2027, currently playing at St. Michael Catholic High School in Alabama.
He is a four-star prospect, courtesy of On3, and now he is attending the Texas Longhorns elite camp on Sunday, per Justin Wells of On3.
As a freshman, Rivers was on the varsity team and threw for 3,077 yards with 29 touchdowns and only four interceptions. This past year, he threw for 3,947 yards with 36 touchdowns and six interceptions, so there is no denying his talent.
The Texas visit is interesting, and he has offers from a number of major programs, including the following: Auburn, NC State (Philip's alma mater), Miami (FL), Georgia, South Carolina, Boston College and Missouri.
Now, it seems that Steve Sarkisian's program might be pondering the talented son of Philip Rivers, and rightfully so.
