The 2025 NFL season is fast approaching and after an eventful offseason, the Green Bay Packers are primed to fight for the NFC North title after acquiring Micah Parsons in a blockbuster trade with Dallas. Can the team live up to the expectations and be a true Super Bowl contender? Here are 10 bold predictions for the Packers in what promises to be an exciting and interesting 2025 season:

Ten Bold Predictions for the Packers in 2025, Number One: Jordan Love Takes a Step Forward

The key for Jordan Love will be to stay healthy this year. Last season, he was injured in Week 1 and was never fully healthy. This season will be Love’s third as the Packers starter. He has led the team to the playoffs in each of his first two seasons at the helm, but expectations are higher this year.

With the addition of a first-round wide receiver and a strong running game, Love will thrive. Expect at least 3,700 yards and 32 touchdowns passes from Love in 2025 as he establishes himself as a quarterback you can win with.

Number Two: Josh Jacobs Falls Off a Bit

Josh Jacobs will have a hard time matching his 2024 production. The former Raiders star gained 1,329 yards and ran for 15 touchdowns in his first year with the Packers.

This season, he will fall off a bit but will still have an strong season. Expect 1,150 yards and 10 touchdowns this year. The Packers have more depth at running back and will be passing a bit more with a healthy Love. That will account for the slight downturn in Jacobs’ productivity this season.

Ten Bold Predictions for the Packers in 2025, Number Three: Matthew Golden Sets a Rookie Record

Throughout training camp, first-round pick Matthew Golden looked ready to hit the ground running. The Texas alum showed good hands and consistently made plays. He also played well in the two preseason games he appeared in.

Golden will set a new Packers franchise record for catches as a rookie this season. The old record was set by Jayden Reed in 2023. Reed caught 64 passes for 793 yards and eight touchdown catches. Golden will surpass the 64 catches if he stays healthy and will prove himself to be the team’s number one wideout by the end of the season.

Number Four: Micah Parsons Starts Slowly But…

While expectations are high, it will take Parsons a little time to get into football shape and be comfortable in the Packers defense. He will come around by October and will provide the Packers pass rush with a big boost.

While Parsons may have only five sacks halfway through the season, he will finish the year with 14. He will also help make the players around him better and help mask the lack of corner depth the Packers presently have.

Ten Bold Predictions for the Packers in 2025, Number Five: Rashan Gary Has a New Career High in Sacks

The addition of Parsons will impact the other Packers pass rushers. Players like Rashan Gary will face fewer double teams as offenses emphasize slowing down Parsons and concentrate of containing him.

Gary will benefit from the change and will record 10 or more sacks for the first time in his NFL career after coming close several times.

Number Six: Jordan Morgan Starts Before the Season is Over

While Rasheed Walker will start the season as the first string left tackle, he will not hold the position all season. 2024 first-round pick Jordan Morgan will rotate in for several series early in the season or spend some time filling in at guard. But by the end of the season, Morgan will take over as the starting left tackle and will establish himself as a quality starter at the position.

Ten Bold Predictions for the Packers in 2025, Number Seven: Edgerrin Cooper Breaks Out

Rookie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper made the NFL All-Rookie Team last season despite only playing 55 percent of defensive snaps in 14 games. He only started four times. Still, whenever he was on the field, Cooper just kept making plays.

This season, the Texas A&M product will start from day one. He put on nine pounds of muscle over the offseason and now knows the Green Bay defense well. The addition of Parsons will also free up Cooper to make even more plays.

Cooper will make the Pro Bowl this season as he establishes himself as an elite player in his second NFL season.

Number Eight: The Run Defense Stumbles

The Packers run defense improved significantly last season under Jeff Hafley, but it will initially take a step back this season. Nose tackle T.J. Slaton signed with the Bengals as a free agent. The Packers dealt Kenny Clark to the Cowboys in the Parsons trade. That leaves the team without their top two run stopping defensive tackles from a year ago.

Rookie Nazir Stackhouse will take over as the nose tackle, but he will need some time to adjust to the NFL. As a result, teams will have more success running up the middle on the Green Bay defense this season, especially early in the year.

By the end of the season, Hafley will make adjustments, and Stackhouse will improve, and the run defense will settle down. But the first five games may be a struggle.

Ten Bold Predictions for the Packers in 2025, Number Nine: Christian Watson Makes an Impact

Wide receiver Christian Watson will start the season on the PUP list, but he will be on the field by Week 7. While Watson will need time to get back into football shape, by Thanksgiving, he will be making an impact on the offense.

Watson’s final statistics won’t be overwhelming, but his late-season performance will show the impact he can still have on the offense. The Packers have to decide whether to offer Watson another contract after 2025 and he will give the team something to think about.

Number 10: The Packers Win the NFC North

The Packers will win 12 games and NFC North. The schedule is difficult, but if Love stays healthy, the Packers should win the division. The Vikings will fall off with an inexperienced quarterback. The Lions will miss their two coordinators and some key players who are no longer with the team. The NFC North will remain the deepest division in the league, but the Packers will win it.

They will at least reach the NFC Championship Game this year which will be regarded as a major step forward.
