Tom Brady Feels Aaron Rodgers Is the 'Greatest Passer' in NFL History

There’s no denying that Aaron Rodgers has established himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play football. It’s debatable whether Rodgers is the best shot caller of all time, but some of his qualities definitely make him stand out from most.

One individual who had firsthand experience of Rodgers’ prowess is Tom Brady. These two played out several nail-biters, producing several memorable highlight reels.

Despite that, most would argue Rodgers achieved far too little in his twenty-year career. While Brady went on to lift seven Lombardi trophies, Rodgers only ever managed one back in 2011.

That being said, Brady believes that the 2011 Aaron Rodgers was arguably the best passer he had ever seen.

[Aaron has] won a Super Bowl and many championship games. He’s a winner, and I think what I’ve always appreciated about him, what everybody does, is his ability to throw a football and pass it.

Tom Brady said during an interview with PFF’s Chris Collinsworth

The retired Patriot acknowledged that Rodgers possessed the best arm talent.

Aaron, in his prime, to me is the greatest passer of the football the league [has] ever seen. He could get the ball from point A to B faster and more accurately than any player, I think, in the history of the NFL.

Even after hanging up his boots, Brady’s words carry a lot of weight, and there are valid reasons to accept his hypothesis about Rodgers. For those who don’t remember, let’s jog their memory about Rodgers’ numbers during his Super Bowl-winning campaign for the Green Bay Packers.

Aaron Rodgers threw 343 completions (68.3% completion) for 4643 yards (9.2 yards per throw), 45 touchdowns, only 9 interceptions (1.2 TD/INT ratio), and a passer rating of 122.5 (an NFL record).

Aaron Rodgers is set to assume a new role

Rodgers’ two-year layover at the New York Jets went historically bad. On his first outing for the Gang Green, the ten-time Pro Bowler tore his ACL and sat out the entire season.

The following year wasn’t great either. He played every game for the Jets, finishing with a 5-12 record. Even though he was still under contract for a couple more years, the new Jets management did not want him back for a third year.

After leaving the Jets, Rodgers signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. This could be his last hurrah in the NFL and the only shot at winning another Super Bowl to level with Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, and John Elway.

The Steelers bolster their squad by trading for DK Metcalf, Jalen Ramsey, and Jonnu Smith in the offseason.

Ahead of their season’s opening fixture against the Jets, the Steelers players voted Aaron Rodgers as one of the captains of the team.

Ramsey believes that Rodgers, even at his age, is among the best in the business.

The confidence that he brings to that whole offense, like everybody around him, wants to be great. And it’s kind of like nobody wants to let him down. The best teams that I’ve been on, that’s been how the whole team is.

Jalen Ramsey said while appearing on The Pivot Podcast

It will be an emotional moment for Rodgers while playing the Jets. However, Vegas has its money on the four-time NFL MVP to secure a win over the Big Apple franchise.
