Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady continues to make history, even during the offseason.
An autographed Brady 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Rookie Ticket sold at auction for just over $3.1 million, setting a new all-time record for a football card. The card, which was auctioned off by Lelands, was graded a mint nine with an autograph grade of 10.
This is the third time this year that a copy of this particular Brady card has set a new record for the most expensive football card. Two other copies of the card sold for $1.32 million in March and $2.25 million in April. Both of those copies had slightly lower grades.
According to the Action Network, Friday's sale put Brady back onto the list of the 10 most expensive sports cards ever sold. He is the only football player on that list. Mickey Mantle, Honus Wagner, LeBron James, Mike Trout, Luka Doncic and Wayne Gretzky also have cards on the list.
