The New England Patriots offense may struggle in 2020 following Tom Brady's departure to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
While Bill Belichick is expected to rely on second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham come September (or whenever the season begins), New England is expected to be very active in the QB market after the 2020 season.
According to BetOnline, here's who has the best odds to become New England's starter in 2021:
Stidham having the best odds makes sense considering the Patriots will allow him to develop his craft in 2020, but they'll obviously look at veterans and draftees when the time comes.
Watson at No. 2 on the list isn't necessarily wild either. The Texans quarterback liked the tweet below following his latest cryptic social media post about potentially moving on from Houston.
Finally, Trevor Lawrence at No. 3 would be possible only if New England somehow manages a decently high draft pick in 2021. Lawrence is expected to go as high as first overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, so the Patriots would probably have to trade up to get him.
Whatever happens, the Patriots will have to figure it out relatively fast if they want to maintain the success they had during the Belichick-Brady era.
