Martin Mayhew and Marty Hurney were part of the staff that assembled Washington's first NFC championship game entrant since 1991, but both are moving on.
Marty Hurney no longer is a member of the Commanders' front office, Ben Standig of TheAthletic.com reports. Hurney, an advisor for the team last season, is not listed on the Commanders' website.
The Commanders have announced a few moves for their personnel staff. Washington has hired Lance Newmark as assistant General Manager. Newmark was previously Detroit’s senior director of player personnel.
If McCaffrey and the Panthers can't work out a new deal, Carolina could be in trouble past the 2020 season. While the Panthers have Reggie Bonnafon, Mike Davis, Marcus Murphy and Jordan Scarlett, none of those players is nearly as talented as McCaffrey.
