ECHL: Ethan Haider Stays in the Mix With Nashville

Former Gladiators goaltender Ethan Haider remains with Nashville and is on the Predators’ roster for Thursday night’s preseason matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Haider and Justus Annunen are the two goaltenders listed on Nashville’s game roster.

The matchup marks Nashville’s second-to-last preseason game and comes as the organization continues trimming its training camp roster.

Haider Stays With Nashville

Haider entered Predators camp after spending the 2025-26 season between Atlanta and the Milwaukee Admirals. Nashville originally selected the 6-foot-3, 197-pound goaltender in the fifth round, 148th overall, of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Nashville’s roster for Thursday lists Haider alongside Annunen as the two goaltenders available against Carolina.

His continued stay in Nashville also comes after several players familiar to Atlanta fans moved on to Milwaukee Admirals training camp. Earlier this week, Nashville assigned T.J. Semptimphelter, Kalan Lind, and Austin Roest to Milwaukee. The Predators followed with another round of assignments Wednesday that included goaltender Isak Posch.

That leaves Haider continuing his preseason with the NHL club as Nashville nears its final roster decisions.

Thursday’s roster does not specify whether Haider or Annunen will start against Carolina or how Nashville plans to divide the goaltending duties. Still, Haider’s inclusion gives Atlanta fans another game to follow as the former Gladiators netminder continues his push through camp.

A Familiar Name for Atlanta Fans

Haider’s progression through Nashville’s system has been one of several storylines carrying over from Atlanta’s 2025-26 season. He and Semptimphelter formed a young tandem with the Gladiators before both also spent time within the Admirals organization.

Their paths have separated for the moment. Semptimphelter has moved on to Milwaukee’s camp, while Haider remains with Nashville.

For Haider, every additional day in NHL camp offers more time around Nashville’s players and coaching staff as the Predators continue evaluating their roster. Thursday’s matchup against Carolina gives him another opportunity to remain part of that process, whether his role comes in game action or from backing up Annunen.

For Atlanta fans, the connection makes Nashville’s preseason worth following a little more closely. Haider may no longer be wearing a Gladiators sweater during camp, but the goaltender they watched develop in Atlanta remains among the players still standing as Nashville approaches the end of its preseason schedule.
