On this day 34 years ago: Flames trade Doug Gilmour to the Maple Leafs

Today is the anniversary of one of the worst trades in the Calgary Flames’ franchise history. On Jan. 2, 1992, the Flames traded Doug Gilmour, Jamie Macoun, Kent Manderville, Ric Nattress and Rick Wamsley to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Craig Berube, Alexander Godynyuk, Gary Leeman, Michel Petit and Jeff Reese.
