After the Vancouver Canucks re-assigned goaltender Ty Young to the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Canucks from ECHL Kalamazoo, it left the Wings without a second netminder one day before they were set to take on the Bloomington Bison.

In their daily ECHL transactions post, the ECHL listed Norfolk Admirals goaltender Logan Neaton on waivers for the purpose of contract termination. Neaton first arrived on the Admirals’ roster during the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs when he was signed to an Amateur Tryout (ATO) to be the backup to Oskari Salminen in the absence of Yaniv Perets.
