New England Patriots pass-rusher Keion White has had a mediocre 2024 campaign, but that hasn't stopped him from being unhappy with the state of the organization.
The Patriots suffered another defeat as New England couldn't stop the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 17. The Bolts walked all over the Pats on their way to a 40-7 victory. Justin Herbert threw for three touchdowns with Ladd McConkey on the receiving end of two of those passes that concluded in the end zone.
With the Patriots record sitting at 3-13 and the once proud franchise at the bottom of the AFC East, White believes that changes need to be made.
"If changes aren't made, then what are we doing? Again, NFL is a production-based business, so if we're not doing anything to change our production, which is loss, what are we doing?" he said after the loss.
This isn't the first time that White has hinted at changes needing to be made. In an in-depth profile on the pass-rusher, White told MassLive that he will see where his cards lie at the end of the season.
“I mean, anything is possible. It’s the NFL," he told Karen Guregian. "Anything can happen year to year. It’s a production-based business. It is what it is. You just figure out where you go ... something’s gotta change. That’s the way I feel at this point.
“I don’t think it’s just one thing. I think it’s a lot of things," he added. "First and foremost, it’s me,” he went on. “I need to improve me, and being on the same page with what the coaches want. But I think it’s a lot of other things as well. Without going too much into details, that’s how I feel.”
But White hasn't had a particularly great season as well. He got off to a great start racking up four sacks early in the 2024 campaign but has only tallied one sack in the last 14 games. New England has also allowed 30 or more points in six games this season.
It appears as if head coach Jerod Mayo will be staying in the organization, but if White struggles and continues to make these questionable comments, his time in New England could be coming to an end whether he likes it or not.
