Philadelphia Flyers forward Porter Martone can't legally buy a beer, and at the rate he's going, he'll never have to. Based on his incredible NHL career start, which continued Monday, he'll have a line of people in Philadelphia ready to pick up his tab.
Martone, 19, scored his second goal of the Stanley Cup playoffs in a 2-0 Game 2 win over the in-state rival Pittsburgh Penguins, giving the Flyers a 2-0 series advantage.
Per the ESPN telecast, Martone, 19, is the first teenager in Flyers history to score a goal in each of his first two career playoff games
The teenage phenom, selected No. 6 overall in the 2025 NHL Draft, broke a scoreless tie in the second period, finding himself at the right place at the right time after Penguins defenseman Ryan Shea deflected a shot from Flyers forward Travis Konecny. The puck bounced off Shea's stick to Martone, who knocked a backhander past Penguins goalie Stuart Skinner.

Martone made his NHL debut on March 31 after completing his freshman season with the Michigan State Spartans, finishing the year with 50 points (25 goals, 25 assists) in 35 games, including scoring six game-winning goals.
He's remained red-hot in the pros, accounting for 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 11 games, including playoffs. Martone has a point in eight consecutive games.
His aggressiveness on offense has been key for a Flyers team that finished the regular season No. 21 in goals scored (240). With the series shifting to Philadelphia for the next two games, Martone should be in line for a hero's welcome when the puck drops for Game 3 on Wednesday. After an incredible start to his career, he may already be the toast of the town.
