To say that this has been an eventful couple of weeks for New York Giants star Malik Nabers would be a huge understatement.
The former first-round pick reportedly isn't progressing in his injury recovery as hoped, and there are doubts about his availability for Week 1.
The Giants made a flurry of WR signings, and a viral clip of Nabers struggling to jog in a celebrity softball game only raised those concerns.
That's why the fans were ready to sound the alarms when he was reportedly detained by the police. However, NFL insider Mike Garafolo clarified it was just a case of mistaken identity.
"Regarding Giants WR Malik Nabers and what’s circulating on social media, multiple sources say he was stopped in Paramus by police after a report of road rage by someone driving a similar vehicle. They searched Nabers’ car and spoke to him. No weapon, no arrest, no citation and he was sent on his way," Garafolo shared on X.
The Giants still have plenty to be worried about with the LSU product, but potential legal issues are not one of them.
Nabers will continue to tackle his rehab in an attempt to get back on the field as soon as possible after suffering a torn ACL in Week 4 of his second year in the league.
In the meantime, Jaxson Dart and company will have to lean on Darius Slayton, Darnell Mooney and a committee of JuJu Smith-Schuster, Braxton Berrios and Odell Beckham Jr.
