Stefon Diggs might finally sign with his new NFL team

With all teams getting ready for next season and preseason just around the corner, Stefon Diggs remains unsigned.

However, with his legal situation behind him, it should be just a matter of time before the Pro-Bowler finds a new home.

According to ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler, the Maryland native could be playing close to home.

The Washington Commanders still need help at wide receiver, and with Brandon Aiyuk not doing himself any favors, they might pivot to Diggs.

“I'm told Diggs is highly motivated here because he's not rehabbing an ACL like he was last year. He only played about 55 percent of the snaps for New England and still got 1,000 yards… the rumors around the league are that Washington could add a receiver at some point to go with Terry McLaurin, and so, something should shake out for Diggs,” Fowler said.

Diggs might not be at the peak of his powers anymore, but he still managed to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards last season coming off a season-ending injury.

The Commanders were tied to Aiyuk, but his recent social media activity may have scared them off, and it's hard to believe someone will take a chance on him. At least, they have a premium alternative to consider who also happens to have local ties.
