Jackson Koivun celebrated his first PGA Tour win in an unexpected way

Jackson Koivun literally went fishing after netting his first-ever PGA Tour win.

The 21-year-old Koivun, in just his third start as a pro, bested the field at the 2026 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn., as he staved off the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Hideki Matsuyama on the final day of the tournament on Sunday and finished with a 25-under 259 score for the biggest win of his golf career yet.

Koivun did not leave the course immediately after the trophy presentation and post-event interviews. Before going, the former Auburn Tigers star brought out a fishing rod, looking for another “victory.”

Koivun showed incredible poise on Sunday despite the threat of world No. 1 Scheffler, who settled for second place at 22-under 262. The San Jose, California, native carded a bogey-free final round with five birdies to get the job done.

Matsuyama, Brian Harman, Chandler Phillips and Denny McCarthy finished tied for third place with identical 20-under 264 scores.

It was not clear in the video whether Koivun was able to reel in a fish, but what’s certain is that he is a lot richer than before the tournament, with the winner of the 3M Open bagging $1.584 million.
