Angel Reese had 3 words after making WNBA history

Angel Reese continued her strong play for the Atlanta Dream on Sunday. Her historic performance helped the team defeat the Minnesota Lynx 89-81 to tie the Indiana Fever for fourth place in the WNBA standings. The three-time All-Star shared a three-word message after the game.

Reese finished with 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting, along with 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals. It was her 29th double-double of the season, breaking the record set by Alyssa Thomas in 2023. Allisha Gray led the way for Atlanta with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Jordin Canada and Rhyne Howard combined for 16 points, five rebounds and 13 assists.

Meanwhile, the Lynx’s attack was spearheaded by Olivia Miles’ 21 points and five rebounds. Kayla McBride and Napheesa Collier backed her with 17 points each, and Courtney Williams registered 11 points, three rebounds and four assists.

Angel Reese reacts to Dream’s announcement of her feat

The Dream celebrated Reese’s feat with a post on social media. The 24-year-old reposted it on her Instagram story and included a message.

“BLESSINGS ON BLESSINGS

,” Reese wrote.

Reese has been on a hot streak lately, recording seven straight double-doubles. She also set the league mark for the most rebounds in a single game on Monday with 26 versus the Los Angeles Sparks. The LSU product is averaging 16.1 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists through 38 games.

She and Atlanta are battling for a top three seed with the Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever. They are 26-14 for the season with four games left on the schedule. Reese and Co. will return to action on Sept. 17 to host the Connecticu Sun at Gateway Center Arena. The superstar forward will also play for Team USA in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup from Sept. 4 to 13 in Berlin, Germany.\
