Bears' Case Keenum may have opportunity to scorch Eagles again

Chicago Bears third-team quarterback Case Keenum, who might start against Philadelphia on Monday night, scorched the Eagles in his only regular-season career start against them. In a 32-27 loss in 2019 while playing for Washington, Keenum completed 30 passes in 44 attempts for 380 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions against Philadelphia.

Keenum also completed 28 passes in 48 attempts for 271 yards, one TD and two interceptions while playing for Minnesota in a 38-7 loss at Philadelphia in the 2017 NFC Championship Game. Keenum could start for the Bears on Monday versus Philadelphia with Caleb Williams out and second-team QB Tyson Bagent in concussion protocol.

Keenum has not played in an NFL game since he completed 11 passes in 17 attempts for 62 yards with no TDs and two interceptions for the Houston Texans in a 36-22 loss to the Cleveland Browns on December 24, 2023. The Bears signed Keenum in April 2025 to a one-year, $3 million contract, and he re-signed a two-year contract in April.

After not attempting a pass in 2025, Keenum appears likely to start for the Bears on Monday. He has 30 wins and 36 losses as an NFL starter. The Bears will be the eighth NFL team that Keenum has played in a game for. Keenum previously played for Houston, St. Louis, Cleveland, Denver, Minnesota, Washington and Buffalo.
